NOK 290.00

65% Superwash Merino 20% Silk 15% Yak

A soft and delicious singles yarn. The yarn is a light grey when undyed, so all colours looks a bit different on this base. Perfect for shawls and soft garments with a lot of drape.

One popular destinations for Vikings to sail to on their longships during raiding season, was Ireland. Ireland had many religious houses that were rich in gold and poorly defended. There are many examples of brooches and other jewellery found in graves excavated in Norway that had been made in the workshops of Irish monasteries and used there to adorn religious book or other reliquaries. The Vikings changed these beautiful pieces into jewellery to adorn themselves with.

A pale gold colourway inspired by beautiful gold jewellery seen in museums.

This colourway was made especially for a collaboration with Julie Knits in Paris on the Filigree Wrap for Woolinn, Ireland’s festival of Yarn 2019
