A fantasticly good yarn quality with 70% superwash BFL (Bluefaced leicester) 20% Silk and 10% Cashmere. Bluefached leicester is a british sheep breed. It is crisp and soft at the same time. This is a yarn that would be perfect for a luxurious fingering-weight cardigan or sweater, as well as for accessories.

The Vikings was famous for their longships. They were graceful, lightweight, symmetrical wooden ships with shallow keels that had both sails and oars. They where built to cross rough seas as well as being quick to manoeuvrer, light enough to carry across across land for a bit and because of the shallow keels able to go up rivers and make beach landings. These traits made them perfect for making lightning quick attacks and be off before forces could be gathered against them if they wished to. These ships made the Vikings able to travel far and wide to raid, trade or settle down. Many ships also had beautiful carvings of dragons and other fantastic beasts.

This is a rich dark golden brown inspired by the tarred wood the longships were made of.

This colourway was made specially for a collaboration with Julie Knits in Paris on a wrap called Filigree for the Woolinn Ireland's festival of Yarn festival 2019
