New Luxury Fingering - Yak/Silk
My new Luxury Fingering – Yak/Silk (50% Silk 50% Yak, 200 m per 50 g skein) is launching on friday March 19th for Indie Untangled Across the Pond ticketholder (If you do not have a ticket yet you can buy one here https://indieuntangled.com/ ) and for everybody else on March 29th.
This is the ultimate luxury yarn, a 50/50 mix of mulberry silk and yak, and it is just one of the softest things in the world. You might have even more trouble than usual putting down your knitting, because it really feels so lovely in your hands. And the way it drapes is absolutely amazing! This is an expensive yarn at 290 NOK per 50 g skein so here are a few suggestions for patterns that make the most of a limited amount of yarn
One Skein projects
One skein will be enogh for a small projeckt like fingerless mittens, a headband or some hats. Suggestions for mittens are Piitu a free pattern by Heidi Alander, Moondust mittens by Melanie Berg, Nereid fingerless gloves another free one by Denise Sutherland, Oddity by Mia Heikkinen or Skògar mitts by Christelle Nihoul. If you like a headband you could try Twist headband by RilleRuth and and exampel of a hat pattern that would work for one sken is the Moondust hat by Mealnie Berg or Petite Bubbles by Joji Locatelli.

Two skein projects:
With two skeins you can make almost any fingering weight hat you like and even have fun playing with two colours in for example either Discord or Rhyme by Bristol Ivy. If you want a one colour hat you will be able to get many different patterns with one skein if you are willing to play yarn chicken, but with two skeins you are certain to have enough for most patterns.
If you are a fan of the popular one skein wonder shawls you have enough with two of these small skeins. Joji Locatelli has made a couple of good options like Lightweight Hipster or Venezia. Another good one is The Observatory by Kate Davies
A cowl of some sort will also be a great project to make with two skeins. A few ideas for cowls are Frost Flowers by Veera Välimäki and Bubble Cowl or Paris in Berlin by Joji Locatelli

Three skein projects
With 600 meters you are starting to have lots of options. You now have a many differt shawl and cowl patterns to choose from and for some sizes you now have enough for a short sleeved garment.
If you want to play with three different colourways a very good option is the super popular 3 colour cashmere cowl by Joji Locatelli. If you want a shawl you could do either Heart thief or Tuva’s Arrows by Julie Knits in Paris
